A 'Zombie Walk' session at the San Diego Comic-Con turned into disaster when a woman got seriously injured after being struck by a car.
According to San Diego Police Department, the car which carried a deaf family and their children was waiting as a large crowd of people who dressed up as zombies walked across the street, reported Ace Showbiz.
In a statement, the police said that "the 48-year-old male driver slowly rolled forward trying to get out of the area" after a few minutes because the two children "were afraid of the crowd."
Some of the zombie cos-players apparently got angry. They "surrounded and began punching the car," smashing the windshield. During the chaos, a 64-year-old woman and a man fell.
As the driver drove away and tried to find a police officer, some people chased them on foot. No arrest has been made, but the incident was being investigated. The woman "sustained serious arm injuries when she fell under the car," the statement said.
The organiser of the 'Zombie Walk' tweeted that they would try to collect some fund to help the injured woman. "We will find out info and set up fund to help with reward and/or med," they wrote.
