Woman, husband's bodies found from colony in New Town

The body of a housewife with multiple stab wounds was found and of her husband hanging from ceiling fan in the same room at a colony in New Town area, the emerging satellite township near Kolkata, this evening.
Police said, based on the accounts of the only child of the couple it appeared the man Shonku Das hacked to death his wife Mamoni during a heated argument and then seeing the blood-soaked body, hanged himself to death.
The child's cry attracted the neighbours to the couple's small house located in a modest colony of the area of mostly high rises and they informed the police.

The bodies had been sent for post-mortem.
