Woman jumps to death at mall, falls on man leaving him injured

A young woman today jumped to her death from the 12th floor of a mall in Janakpuri area, landing on a man on ground who was left grievously injured.
According to the police, 25-year-old Chanchal Sharma, a resident of Rohini, allegedly committed suicide from the 12th floor of West End mall in Janakpuri area of West Delhi at around 11:00 AM.
She landed on Sunil Kumar who works at a Security Service at shop number 329 of the mall.
"We received a call at 11:15 AM. When the police team reached the spot, both the man and the woman were found lying in a pool of blood.

"The woman was taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital where she was declared brought dead. The man was rushed to Mata Chandan Devi hospital where his condition is said to be critical. He has received head injuries in the incident," said a police officer.
"We have spoken to the father of the woman on telephone. He told us that Chanchal Sharma was down with jaundice a couple of months ago during which she lost a lot of weight.
"She was under depression due to the illness which probably might have driven her to take this extreme step," said Additional Commissioner of Police (West) V Renganathan.
