The incident occurred last night around 9 PM when the woman identified as Rama Kaurav was alone with her son, Parth Kaurav.
When the boy returned to his home from his grandfather's place, she scolded him, but he teased her. Following which she got annoyed and started beating him up, they said.
Later, when her husband Adhir Kaurav returned home, he found the door bolted from inside.
When the police questioned his wife, she broke down and admitted that she had indeed killed her son.
Later, the police arrested his wife and registered a case under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against her.
Rama was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate today from where she was sent to jail under judicial custody.
