Acting on a tip-off, the Indirapuram police nabbed Manju Kumari at about 10:30 AM, they said.
"During interrogation, Manju confessed that she, along with Pradeep alias Daroga, Ashok Yadav, Arun and Sonu had kidnapped Dr Rajesh Gupta from his clinic in Nirkari colony of Vasundhara on January 20, 2016," said Superintendent of Police (City) Salman Taj Patil.
"Pradeep had asked Gupta to visit his ailing mother. When Gupta was proceeding towards a car near his clinic they dragged and bundled him inside. He was intoxicated and ferried to Shikohabad. When he gained consciousness, he was forced to call his family to pay a ransom of Rs 20 lakh for his release," he said.
They scrapped Gupta's phone near a railway line in Delhi. Pradeep withdrew an amount of Rs 37,000 from different ATMs by using Gupta's debit cards, police said.
A case regarding the incident was registered under sections 364 A, 201, 120B of the IPC at Indirapuram police station.
"Police had been raiding different areas and their possible hide outs to nab them. All the remaining culprits who are still at large will be arrested soon," said Patil.
