Woman raped in Haryana village

A 31-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a man, with whom she was in a live-in relationship, on the pretext of marriage.
Based on a complaint filed by the woman yesterday, a case of rape has been registered against Deen Dayal Yadav of Pali village, about 15 km from here, while his father Umed Singh Yadav has been booked for sexual harrassment.
The two have also been accused of criminal intimidation by the woman, police said.
The woman was in a live-in relationship with Deen Dayal for past some time.
She alleged that after Deen Dayal, an issueless divorcee, promised to marry her, she started living with him at Pali village where he kept on having sexual intercourse with her whereas his father Umed Singh molested her sometimes.

However, when Deen Dayal declined to marry her recently, in spite of her repeated insistence, she approached the police.
She was taken for medical examination in the local civil hospital today and her statement recorded under section 164 of the CrPC in a local court.
Efforts are on to apprehend the father-son duo who are absconding, a police official said.
