Woman resists snatching attempt, shot at by bikers

A 26-year-old woman was shot at by two unidentified motorcycle-borne youths when she resisted their attempt to snatch her neighbour's gold chain in East Delhi's Vivek Vihar area today, police said.
"The incident took place at around 8:30 AM when the two bikers tried to snatch the gold chain of Komal Malhotra's neighbour," said a senior police officer.
"Komal and her neighbour both tried to get hold of the bikers when one of them fired at Komal. The bullet pierced through her hand and hit her in the chest," he said.
She was rushed to Deepak Memorial Hospital and is stated to be out of danger. The woman is pursuing her post graduation from Delhi University and stays with her family in Jhilmil area of East Delhi.

A case for attempt to murder and snatching has been registered and search is on to nab the two snatchers, police said.
