Woman's body found from lodge in tourist spot

The body of a woman, having deep gashes in neck and other parts of body, was found from a private lodge in tourist resort Garchumuk in Howrah district today.
A senior police officer said one person, stated to be the husband of the deceased Anita Mahato, was arrested in connection with the incident.
The couple had checked in the lodge in the morning and after the room was found locked till afternoon, the lodge employees broke open the door and found the body in a pool of blood.
The arrested man, identified as Goutam Mahato, was seen going out of the lodge during early noon hours.

He was apprehended by the police after discovery of the body from nearby, the officer said.
The couple had given the residential address as from Delhi in the lodge register.
