was found dead in her rented house near Gate bazaar area under Berhampur town police station limit, police said today.
The body of the woman, identified as Sobharani Patra, was recovered after her husband Tapan Padhy returned from work last night, they said.
"The Scientific team and dog squad have been pressed for investigation and the nature of the death will be known only after post-mortem," police said.
Padhy who runs a computer centre found the body when he returned to the house at around 10.30 pm and informed the police.
"It is difficult to guess the reason behind the murder, but we are investigating from all possible angles," said SP (Berhampur) Anirudh Kumar Singh.
