Satabai Keru Londhe was set ablaze yesterday following a quarrel over Londhe's 17-year-old son allegedly drinking liquor and creating nuisance in the locality, Bhiwandi police station's sub-inspector R V Patil said.
Londhe and the accused are all rag pickers residing in the same Padma Nagar locality of Bhiwandi.
The two families had a fight on Saturday over the issue following which the four accused -- Sumabai Chaggan Khalse (55), her two sons Haresh Chaggan Khalse (28) and Bhanudas Chaggan Khalse (30), and daughter Vandana Chaggan Khalse (25) doused Londhe in kerosene and set her ablaze, Patil said.
The two families had a fight on the same issue about 15 days back. The victim's husband and other family members present tried to save her, but she sustained around 60 per cent burns in the incident, he said.
She was initially admitted to the IGM Hospital at Bhiwandi but later shifted to Thane Civil Hospital where her condition is stated to be critical, Patil said.
