Woman shot at over old enmity

A woman was shot at in the Kotwali area of Aliganj town here allegedly by a man with whom she had an old enmity, police said today.
According to police, in the incident yesterday, the victim, Lavi Devi, was assaulted by one Ram Rahis along with eight others following a heated exchange. Ram Rahis then shot at Lavi Devi, leaving her seriously injured.
After firing at Lavi, Ram Rahis and his associates fled the spot. The injured woman was admitted to the local Aliganj hospital and later referred to Farrukhabad hospital, police added.
Aliganj police said that on the basis of an FIR lodged by the victim's kin, a case has been registered against Ram Rahis, his brother Ram Sachche, Narender, Alok, Pankaj, Narayan Dev, Puspendra, Ved Ram and Braj Raj of Aliganj town.

However, no arrest has been made in the case so far, police said.
