Police received a complaint on May 25 from Prabhu, father of the deceased Aarti (24), alleging his daughter was strangled and later cremated secretly on May 24 by her in-laws for not bringing enough dowry, SHO Subodh Saxena said.
The accused Pankaj, her husband, and Surendra, father-in-law, were arrested today from their residence, he said, adding four other family members are absconding.
Pankaj amd Aarti were married three years ago and since then the former was harassing her for dowry, the girl's father has said in his complaint.
