According to hospital sources, Kala of Puliyakulam in the city was admitted for delivery a couple of days ago.
The new born baby was below normal weight and put in incubator, even as Kala was suffering from fever, which continued to be high yesterday.
The doctors attending to her took swab test, which was found positive, they said.
The woman was immediately shifted to isolation ward, where 11 persons, including two children, were already being treated.
So far, 110 swine flu patients, from across threee neighbouring districts, were treated in the hospital, amid the death of six since January.
