"An educated girl shows way to two families and literates them," Hooda said while speaking at a function organised at Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya (women university) campus at Khanpur.
The Chief Minister lauded the university's efforts for fulfilling the dreams of educationist Bhagat Phool Singh in the field of women education.
Hooda said his government had built a 'Kanya Gurukul' at Khanpur, where about 7,000 girls are studying today and pursuing courses up to doctorate level.
Girls from rural areas have got opportunity for higher education with this university, he said, urging upon authorities to assist girl students in preparing for competitive examinations.
