Women entrepreneurs account for almost one-fifth of all leadership profiles, who are mainly encouraged to this position favourable business atmosphere and the growing ease of doing business, according to LinkedIn data.
According to LinkedIn, business development, which requires an entrepreneurial mindset, also witnessed a significant increase of about 35 per cent women leaders since 2009.
The survey is based on LinkedIn members data in India over the last eight years to understand what types of roles women were advancing. For global analysis, two decade data were analysed by LinkedIn.
However, there is still work to be done not only in bringing more women into the workplace but also in mentoring and developing them to become future leaders, she added.

The survey further said, traditionally women-dominated industries like media, communication and education continued to witness a steady rise.
Women leaders in these sectors account for almost 11 per cent and 9.5 per cent, respectively, as of 2017, it added.
At a global level, a huge uptick was witnessed in women joining the STEM sector in the last four decades, the survey revealed.
Further, it found that women were infiltrating military, engineering and architecture roles, as well as the public safety and construction industries.
The top 10 roles globally, which saw an increase of women leadership include test-development engineers, automotive salespersons, mariners, technical sales professionals, physicists, military officers and surveyors, it said.
