Silver medallist at the Asian Championships, Navjot made a promising start as she thrashed Gilda De Oliveira of Brazil 11-4 in the opening bout of the women's 67kg section at the Papp Laszlo Sports Arena.
But Navjot failed to carry on the momentum and was shown the door by Leidy Mendez of Colombia 0-9 in her second tie.
In 72kg category, Jyoti laboured hard against Yaemin Adar of Turkey in her first encounter.
Jyoti tried to match her opponent's attacking moves and was locked in a spirited battle at 5-9 before the Turkish delivered a knockout maneuver. The Indian lost the match by fall and ended the eves' dismal campaign at the marquee event.
