The helpline number -- 8814011507 -- will help women raise voice against atrocities, Superintendent of Police Saurabh Singh said.

Inspector Rohni Devi, who is heading the police women cell, has been made the In-charge of helpline wing, he said.

In the past one month, 15 cases of sexual assault were reported in Haryana out of which three were in Jind, he said.

Yesterday, Congress President Sonia Gandhi had visited the family of a teenage rape victim in Sachha Khera village in Jind district.

Meanwhile, a senior district official met the family members of the rape victim in Sachha Khera and assured them to provide the compensation of Rs 2 lakh to them at the earliest.
