"There is a need to bring awareness in women regarding the Acts meant for safeguarding their rights," Ratnam said, addressing a seminar on women's rights in Karimnagar.
She asked Anganwadi volunteers to inform the authorities about any flaws in the implementation of Acts which have been enacted for women's welfare.
"Every marriage should be registered with the Marriage Registrar. It is mandatory," she said.
Karimnagar district Collector Neetu Prasad said women must get benefit from the Acts, whenever they are in need.
