Women police personnel will also be trained as beat officers to strengthen grassroot policing, Lt Governor Kiran Bedi said today.
She said women personnel would equally police the streets as their male counterparts.
In a WhatsApp message to media persons at the end of a meeting she had with women police personnel at the police training centre here, Bedi said she had obtained feedback from the women personnel to several queries she raised in the form of a questionnaire.
She wanted to know in writing as to how the women police felt about their service since the training they had at the centre and got posted in police stations.
"It was an anonymous feedback I had from the cops to read their feeling and also state of their mind and difficulties they faced," Bedi said.
She said she specifically asked them as to how their families and parents felt about they being in police service.
