Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Yougal Manhas, however, said that they had zero tolerance policy towards cognizable offences and acts, and registered 43 FIRs at the women police station and stern legal action had been initiated against people involved in such acts.
The women police station in Rajouri, catering to the border district and nearby Poonch district, was set up in 2016 to provide grievance redressal to women in areas close to their homes.
In 2017, as many as 1,055 complaints were received at the women police station, out of which 1,012 were solved amicably through counselling, the officer said.
He said a number of matrimonial conflicts and issues were brought to the women police station and these were solved in a cordial and friendly manner by involving family elders through counselling.
The officer said that the main priority of the police station staff was to settle all minor issues in a friendly manner so that families were saved from disintegration.
