The first group of the team reached the summit on July 11 at 11.12 am, the second group at 11.30 am and the third and last group at 12.03 pm on the same day, K R Meetei, Adventure Cell in-charge of the department of Sports and Youth Affairs, said.
The team comprising mountaineers from different states included Shanti Rai from Sikkim and G R Radhika from Telegana (both deputy leaders), Muri Linggi (Arunachal Pradesh), Stenzin Youthog (Jammu & Kashmir), Amla Rawat (Uttarakhand), Gunbala Jodhana (Karnataka), Pooja Jangam (Maharashtra), Anushree (Delhi), Indu Bala (Haryana) and Rinchen Dolma (Himachal Pradesh).
Mount Menthosa is the second highest peak in the Lahoul-Spiti province of Himachal Pradesh.
The first team to climb the Mount Menthosa was British Service team led by Captain S Bembrose in 1970.
