"I will not blame the officer or the organisation for which I worked for 42 years. I blame those who directed them to do that," Singh told reporters after paying tributes to the Mahatma Gandhi memorabilia purchased by an Indian businessman, at the International Airport here.
"The whole incident (which his family thought was an attempt to install snooping device) is an attack on the institution. The media should find out who is downgrading this institution," he said.
On January 5, Gen Singh's residence in Delhi witnessed high drama when an army officer landed there apparently to remove a telephone exchange and it was seen by the family as an attempt to install snooping device, after which the Army expressed regret.
