"I had been working for the Congress party for the last 42 years and I am not going to quit the party so easily," Singh said while addressing a rally in Narvana here.
"My struggle has always been to fight for those honest party workers, who never got their due," Singh said.
Singh, however, did not attempt to conceal his differences with the state Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and blamed him for party's dismal show in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, where party had won only one out of the 10 LS seats.
Singh also said that he has spoken to the party high command about all these issues and was confident of a decision in his favour.
Speculations were rife about Singh's political future after he announced few days ago that he would not contest under Congress banner if Hooda was not replaced as CM candidate.
