Woods finished on six-over 148 for 36 holes yesterday, five back of the projected cut with too many people in the clubhouse ahead of him to have any chance at qualifying for the final two rounds.
The round ends a week of drama about the health of Woods, who withdrew from the final round at last week's World Golf Championships event in Akron, Ohio, with a back injury.
Woods, a 14-time major champion chasing the all-time record of 18 majors won by Jack Nicklaus, spent two days in Florida receiving treatment and evaluation, his status in doubt for the year's final major tournament.
But Woods struggled on day one and by his Friday afternoon tee time was in a fight to make the cut.
