At the Delhi Secretariat, more than 200 government employees remained stubborn, demanding the arrest of those who attacked the chief secretary, a top bureaucrat in the national capital.
According to the Delhi government employee welfare association, around 7,000 staff boycotted their work in support of Prakash.
Although the IAS and DANICS officers' associations announced that they would not go on strike as it would make people suffer, most of the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) officials, who do clerical works, did not join work.
"In the offices of the SDMs, excise, health, sale and tax and several government's departments, our staff did not join their work today in protest against the attack on the chief secretary by AAP MLAs," Deepak Bharadwaj, association's general secretary, said.
In his complaint to the north DCP, Prakash alleged that the assault on him was "premeditated" and "conspiracy" of all those who were present at a meeting at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence last night.
