Indian Youth Congress (IYC) today asked its members to work hard for ensuring the victory of Congress in the forthcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULB) and Panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
The members of the IYC took a pledge to this effect at a day-long convention organised by the Pradesh Youth Congress where PCC president G A Mir and IYC president Raja Amarinder Singh Brar were also present.
The participants at the convention resolved that they would continue to strengthen and serve the party to the best of their ability.
They would actively participate in the ULB and Panchayat elections and ensure Congress party's victory in these polls, a spokesman of the PCC said in a statement.
The IYC members also pledged to strengthen the democratic institutions in the state.
Addressing the convention, Mir said the youth in Jammu and Kashmir are highly talented and can do wonders.

Mir made an appeal to the youth to come forward and contribute to the overall development of the state and shoulder the responsibility of empowering the people.
He also asked them to remain vigilant and defeat the elements exploiting them for personal benefits.
Brar, who was the chief guest at the convention, accused the NDA government at the Centre of being anti-farmer and anti-youth.
"The Centre is working against the aspirations of the youth and only takes care of the corporate sector," he alleged.
"Congress party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi would continue to fight the discrimination against the farmers and the youth," he said.
Brar said Congress would "continue to defeat anti-people and anti-youth policies of the Modi government".
