The employees continued to protest in support of their demands and asked for an immediate redressal of their grievances.
The J-K state government employees under the umbrella body of Joint Consultative Committee are on a three-day strike to press their demand for enhancement in retirement age from 58 years to 60 years and regularisation of daily-wage employees.
"The government had made an agreement with us in September last year and had assured us that the recommendations will be implemented by March 31 this year, but they have failed to fulfil their commitment. They have shown no respect for the genuine demands of the employees", an agitating member of the JCC here said.
The employees urged the government to address the issue of pay anomaly in the clerical cadre.
They have also raised the concern over the disbursement of sixth pay commission arrears for the public sector employees, besides asking for the increase in retirement age.
The JCC spokesman, Ram Kumar Sharma, had yesterday informed that they will gherao the civil secretariat in Srinagar today and march towards the Governor's house on Saturday.
