Work on Gairsain Assembly building to start next month

Work on the Gairsain Vidhan Bhawan and a new Assembly building project in Dehradun will begin next month, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna today said.
The construction of Gairsain Vidhan Bhawan will begin on November 9, while work on the Assembly building project at Raipur in Dehradun will commence on November 19, Bahuguna told reporters here.
Land clearance and acquisition formalities have been completed and the NBCC has been asked to fast track the work on the twin projects, he said, adding Rs 80 crore will be spent on the construction of the Assembly building at Gairsain in Chamoli district.
Deputy Speaker of the state Assembly Anusuya Prasad Maikhuri will visit Gairsain tomorrow to take stock of things, Bahuguna said.
The foundation stone of the Gairsain Assembly building was laid by the Chief Minister on January 14 this year.
Construction of an assembly building at Gairsain is expected to give a boost to development activities in the hill regions of the state.
