Working on cluster approach towards infra development: Prabhu

The government is working on a cluster approach towards infrastructure development to promote manufacturing and economic activity, Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu today said.
In a series of tweets, he said the development of economic clusters on east coast in Andhra Pradesh and west coast in Maharashtra is under discussion.
These issues among others were discussed during the stakeholder consultation on the proposed new industrial policy.
He also said that the government will be a partner in the development of new age industries and work with the industry to develop and market new technologies.
"We are taking a district based approach and mapping human resources, executing skill development programme in line with local requirements," he said.

He added that environment and sustainability issues are going to be key component of the policy.
