Workshop to be held on role of NGO in CSR

With the Company Act 2013 making CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) a legal binding for the corporates, Thane-based social enterprise Ladybird Environmental Consulting will organise a workshop on exploring the role of NGOs in effective implementation of the Act.
With the new provision on CSR, around 16,000 companies in India will have to set-up full-fledged CSR department and will spend 2 per cent of PAT (profit after tax) around Rs 22,000 crore as CSR, annually, Founder and Director of Ladybird Dr V Shubhalaxmi said.
She said the workshop will explore the role of NGOs working with the corporates on CSR and how NGOs can customise their services and products to fulfill corporates demands.
Around 25 participants (NGOs) will take part in the workshop to be held at Dharavi on July 27.
