The team will also map the three wetlands, identified by the ministry of forest as wetlands of national importance under the national wetlands conservation programme, official sources said.
The department has invited experts to prepare a database of the bird population, the flora and fauna of these aquatic regions.
The wetland project has already been discussed with the World Bank team during its visit to the state capital a few weeks ago.
The consultants will study and submit a report on the status of wetlands in the state over a period of time, sources said added.
Only three companies, Terracon Enotech Pvt Ltd, Mumbai, Kicons Ltd, Pune and the Mandar Nature Club, Bhagalpur, had applied for the project and were invited to make presentations on July 17.
But only Terracon Enotech Pvt Ltd turned up. The department then asked the rest of two companies to put up their project concept on July 23. But the Pune based Kicons Ltd failed to turn up, they said.
