The one-of-its-kind international league promoting Kabaddi features teams owned by Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha besides popular singer Yo Yo Honey Singh.
The Wave World Kabaddi League has promised to implement an anti-doping programme in compliance with World Anti-Doping Code and its accompanying international standards.
"Wave World Kabaddi league is committed to spirit of healthy and drugs free competition. As Kabaddi is a highly combative sport, we are ensuring strict implementation of the anti-doping rules and regulations," WKL Commissioner Pargat Singh said in a statement.
To realise its promise of being a completely drug free league, Wave WKL claims to have enacted a program which is a "blend of deterrence, detection and education".

The Governing Council of Wave WKL will be continuously educating players about the ills of doping and banned drugs during the matches.
The literature shared with the players will be multi lingual. World Kabaddi League will see various national and international Kabaddi players in action through eight franchisees.
The league will follow the Formula 1 style touring sports format and will be played across three continents. With 86 matches, the first season will be played on the weekends.
