The 13th World Spices Congress (WSC) has urged spice growers across the globe to work in a determined manner to improve the quality of spices and create a sustainable supply chain through a farmer-centric and customer-focused approach.
The key takeaway of the Congress, which concluded in Ahmedabad on February 29, was the message of 'quality', Spices Board Chairman A Jayathilak said.
"It now requires the entire spice industry to act together in a determined manner to realize this objective," he said.
"The Congress helped in making the participants richer in terms of business relationships, knowledge and memories which will aid them in the journey forward.
It served as a global platform for discussions and interactions between importers, exporters, regulators and other stakeholders of the spice industry," he noted.
Jayathilak said the event provided a platform for overseas exhibitors to project their global reach by offering new technologies and products which would enhance capabilities of the global spice industry.
