"Why not? It will be good. It will further spread the message and if am able to motivate even two people I think it will be worth counting," said Balan, who was in the Capital alongwith Union Minister Jairam Ramesh today to announce a 2000 km-long Nirmal Bharat Yatra.
"The way 'Manthan' gave a message on women empowerment far and wide, I wish one day there will be a movie over the issue of hygiene and sanitation Vidya will work in it. I wish Shyam Benegal will make such a movie one day," said Ramesh.
Dressed in a cream colored printed sari, the 34-year-old actress said that the contribution of women in this field is crucial.
"The contribution of women in this area is important as they are very much affected by it. In most households such changes are brought in by women," said Balan.
When asked how does she plan to juggle between her work commitments and her job as the face of the campaign, Balan said that is the reason why she hasn't signed up to support too many causes.
"This is the reason I have not spread myself too thin for various causes. Every cause is worth contributing to, but this is something which I think is very important."
The actress also addressed questions regarding her marriage. "Of course I will like to get married one day but that is not happening now. I will be married... Someday."
