WQIA launches microbiological standards for water purifiers

The Water Quality India Association (WQIA), industry body of water purifier manufacturers, today launched microbiological standards to certify household water treatment devices.
"These standards have been specifically developed for Indian conditions and match global norms. WQIA also released a Quality Seal that will help consumers choose water treatment devices that meet these standards," the the industry body said in a statement.

First meeting of re-constituted Consumer Protection panel tomo * The first meeting of the reconstituted Central Consumer Protection Council (CCPC) is scheduled to be held tomorrow at Rajgir in Bihar.
"The 34 member-CCPC, the apex body in the area of consumer protection, will review consumer protection measures and activities in the country and intend to propose setting up of small committees for specific issues," Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said.
Paswan, who chairs CCPC, said that some of the state ministers, who are members of the Council, will not be able to attend the meeting due to Budget exercise.

TCDL ropes in Gauri Khan as brand ambassador for 2 years * Realty firm Tulsiani Constructions and Developers Ltd (TCDL) has roped in Gauri Khan, a film producer and wife of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, as the brand ambassador of the company.
Khan would also be designing homes for the company's two residential projects, Lucknow-based firm said in a statement.
TCDL Chairman Anil Kumar Tulsiani said the company has signed Gauri Khan as brand ambassador for two years.
Khan would designs a luxury housing project comprising 18 penthouses and another affordable housing project at Lucknow, he added.
Tulsiani said the company has so far completed 15 projects and is currently underatking 8 projects at Lucknow, Allahabad, Meerut and Gurgaon.
