The 65-year-old fashion label boss - who launched his self-titled fashion house in 1985 - has found it "interesting" reflecting on his over 30-year career in the fashion industry as he penned the book, reported Women's Wear Daily.
"'American Dreamer' is a reflection on my experiences in the fashion industry from the last 30-plus years. It has been incredible to look back on the moments that have defined both my career and my personal life - from my childhood and origins in the fashion world to my enduring passion for pop culture and America. It's been months and months of writing. It's like therapy," he said.
In the tome, Hilfiger also discusses his life with his ex-wife Susie - with whom he has four children, Alexandria, 31, Elizabeth, 23, Kathleen, 20, and Ricky, 26 - and current spouse Dee and their young son Sebastian.
"American Dreamer", written in collaboration with Peter Knobler, will be released November this year
Hilfiger founded the Tommy Hilfiger Corporation - with support from The Murjani Group - in 1985 and took his company public in 1992 when he launched his signature menswear collection.
