'X-Men: Days of Future Past' earns Rs 16.6 crore in weekend BO

Hugh Jackman starrer Hollywood film 'X Men Days Of Future Past' has collected Rs 16.6 crore net in its opening weekend in India.
The superhero film, directed by Bryan Singer, garnered Rs 4.5 crore on Friday, Rs 5.4 crore on Saturday and Rs 6.1 crore on Sunday, according to Fox Star Studio.
The 3D film, starring Jackman, Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence and Halle Berry, collected Rs 60 lakhs on Thursday in paid previews.
"We are thrilled by the response that 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' has been getting from the audiences. It has been a record breaking weekend for the film thanks to the hugely positive word of mouth," said Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios, India.
The film released with Rajnikanth's Kochadaiyaan 3D, Telugu film 'Manam' and Hindi film 'Heropanti' on May 23.
