Xiaomi, a late entrant to the Chinese smartphone market which effectively used social channels for marketing, achieved new records for sales volume during the second quarter and retained top spot with a 18 per cent market share.
Huawei climbed up to second place, securing for itself a market share of 16 per cent.
Apple retained third spot with a market share of 12 per cent, while Vivo bagged the fourth spot maintaining a market share of 10 per cent, state-run People's Daily reported.
In 2010, CMNet market revenue was 17.2 billion yuan (USD 2.8 billion), it is estimated to expand to 251 billion Yuan (USD 41.8 billion) in five years, the report added.
