"The Unit is giving excellent performance during the current year, and achieved a monthly Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 90 per cent, in January 2015, which is comparable to the best performing power plants in the country," Managing Director of Haryana Power Generation Corporation Ltd. (HPGCL), M K V Rama Rao said in a release here.
"With this achievement, the Unit-1 of DCRTP has broken the earlier record of 130 days continuous operation which was set during 2006 by 110 MW Unit-4 of Panipat Thermal Power Station," he said.
The other 300 MW Unit-2 of the power plant is also performing well and achieved a PLF of 92 per cent during January.
He informed that the 300 MW Unit-1 will now be taken under annual overhauling of 30 days from tomorrow to make it ready for giving even better performance during the summer months when the demand for power would be at its peak.
"It is the endeavor of HPGCL to complete the annual overhauling of its Units before end of April 2015 so that all the generating Units are available in the peak summer months.
