A youth and a girl, both residents of Delhi who had allegedly eloped, were found dead under suspicious circumstances on railway tracks in Sahibabad area of the district today.
The bodies of the couple, believed to be in their 20s, were spotted on the tracks near Arthala Village by a passer-by who called the police, said Upendra Yadav, Station House Officer of Sahibabad.
During probe it came to the light that the couple -- Rohit and Manju -- belonged to Uttam Nagar area of West Delhi and had eloped, the SHO said.
The father of the girl, Ram Chander, had lodged a case of kidnapping against Rohit at Dabri police station of Delhi.
The police officer said that the police is investigating as to whether the couple had committed suicide by jumping from the running train or somebody pushed them.
There are also chances that they might have been killed somewhere else and their bodies were dumped at the tracks here, Yadav said.
