Unlike last year, some of the well known names will be missing from action with defending champion Yuki Bhambri and runners-up Vishnu Vardhan currently playing at an ATP Challenger tournament in Tashkent.
The tournament will, therefore, give a chance to the talented youngsters to showcase their talent.
Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan will stand a good chance in the men's singles, while former champion Prerna Bhambri, who is coming fresh from her win at the USD 10,000 women's ITF in Gulbarga last week, will present a stiff challenge in women's singles.
Challenging Prerna for the nationals title will be another Delhi girl, Rishika Sunkara.
However, Rutuja Bhonsale, who shocked everyone with her strong game last year to win the women's singles title will not be there to defend her title.
Besides the nationals title, the event will also have a huge prize money for the champions in various categories.

The men's singles title will have a prize money of Rs 1.50 lakh, while the runner-up will fetch Rs 1 lakh.
In the women's singles, the winner will take away Rs 1 lakh, while the runner-up will be awarded Rs 65,000.
The final of the men's singles and the women's singles will be played on October 13 with India's star player Sania Mirza giving away the prizes.
The qualifying rounds have already started yesterday and the next two weeks will see some of the most promising talents of Indian tennis making the headlines.
Over the next two weeks, the matches will be played in eight different categories with men's, women's and under-18 boys and girls finishing off on October 13.
From October 15, boys and girls will battle it out for the under-16 and under-14 titles. The qualifying rounds of the boys and girls U-16 and U-14 will begin on October 13.
