A delegation of Youth Akali Dal (YAD) led by its president Bikram Singh Majithia, who is also Punjab's Revenue minister, today handed over a cheque of Rs 21 lakh to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal for the victims of flood-ravaged Uttarakhand.
Lauding the initiative of YAD for making contribution to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, Badal said the youth body had taken up the cause to help people in the hour of distress, an official release said.
Reiterating his commitment to provide all help for rebuilding damaged infrastructure and installations in Uttarakhand, Badal said he had already asked the PWD (B and R) department for construction of houses in villages, which were completely devastated in the flash floods there.
