Youth arrested for involvement in robbery cases

Delhi Railway Police has arrested a youth who was allegedly involved in several cases of robbery at the New Delhi station and also recovered a gold chain from his possession.
Rahul Yadav was arrested after an FIR was registered of chain theft on board a ladies special train, lodged by one Shanti Devi (48), a resident of Ghaziabad, police said.
The accused had robbed the gold chain from her on August 10 afternoon following which he jumped the train and fled, they said.
"During investigation, CCTV footage from railway station was scrutinized and informers were briefed about the incident. An information was received that a boy is roaming near out gate No 1 of New Delhi Railway Station following which he was nabbed," DPC Railways Sanjay Bhatia said.

Police claimed that on sustained interrogation the accused confessed that he had carried out other robberies and snatchings at the station.
