Youth arrested for misbehaving with woman police officer

A youth has been arrested for allegedly misbehaving with a woman police officer here, police said today.
Sunil Pandey, working as a clerk with Chaudhary Charan Singh University was arrested yesterday for misbehaving with the area Circle officer while protesting outside the collectorate, Iqbal Ahmed Kalim, Inspector, Civil Line said.
The incident occurred when the woman officer had gone to control the crowd at the protest site, he said.
On the basis of a complaint filed by the lady officer, Civil Lines police arrested accused Sunil Pandey who along with his colleagues had gone to submit a memorandum to the District Magistrate over issues at the university, police said.

A case has been filed against the accused under various sections of IPC, Kalim said.
The accused, a resident of Jagriti Vihar, however rejected the charges and stated that his leg had got entangled in the chains and he accidentally fell on the officer, he added.
Pandey said that he had apologised to the officer, police said.
