Youth arrested for robbery, attacking Bank Manager

With the arrest of one person, Police today claimed to have solved a case in which two women were robbed and a bank manager was shot at by three youths for resisting their robbery attempt in Sahibabad area.
Acting on a tip off, a police team was sent near Rajendra Nagar Club in Sahibabad area around 5.45 am this morning, where the trio Shokeen, Rahim and Raju were expected to assemble.
However, on seeing the police at the spot, the accused opened fire at them and after 15 mins of firing Shokeen was arrested. The other two accused managed to escape, police said adding a manhunt has been launched to nab them.
Police have recovered gold earrings and a country-made pistol from Shokeen, a resident of Pasonda area in the district.
On December 26, Shokeen along with other two accomplices Rahim, a resident of Sahibabad and Raju, a resident of Seemapuri area of Delhi, tried to rob two women.
The trio robbed one Mithlesh, wife of retired ADG of CRPF Shri Kant Sharma and her neighbour Aruna Sarkar, wife of retired Air Force officer, of their earrings and rings at gun point when they were taking a morning walk outside their house.
When one Pradeep, a bank manager, resisted their robbery attempt, the trio shot at him and fled.
