Superintendent of Police R B Singh said here Siddharth was having an affair with a girl from the last two years which was being opposed by the latter's family members.
Though the girl was shifted to another village, Siddharth used to meet her, the SP said, adding he came last night also to meet the girl agitated over that some persons beaten him to death this morning.
The body has been sent for post mortem and a case has been registered in this regard, he said.
