Mohan Lal (18) tried to rape the minor yesterday at her house in Bhatrana village here, police said.
According to the complaint lodged by the girl's family, the victim along with her family had gone to participate in a religious procession. She returned home for a few minutes to drop off her sweater that she had removed.
After a while when she did not return, the family went to check on her when they found the accused forcing himself on the girl.
Lal fled from the spot, police said, adding that a search for him had been initiated.
