Youth booked for making threatening phone calls

A case has been registered against a youth for allegedly threatening a man that he will throw acid on his daughter in Modinagar area near here, police said today.
The accused's phone calls are under surveillance and the reason behind making the call was being investigated, he said.
Sevaram, a resident of Meerut, said in his police complaint that he received a phone call from a youth who threatened to throw acid on his daughter, SHO Rashid Ali said.
When he contacted the same number, the youth misbehaved with him, Sevaram stated in his complaint, the SHO said.
The matter was being probed, he said.
