Youth clubs alcoholic father to death

A 23-year-old youth allegedly clubbed his alcoholic father to death following an altercation at their house in Manegaon village near here, police said today.
The accused Sanju (23) thrashed his father Roushanlal Lanjewar (46) with a bamboo stick which resulted into his death last night, Katangi police station in-charge Nagendra Pratap Singh said, adding Sanju has surrendered before police.
Sanju, who works as a labourer in Nagpur, had come to the village to attend marriage ceremony of his relative along with his parents.
"Sanju's father was an alcoholic and last night too he picked up fight with his son on selling of land," police said.

Sanju told police that he had thrown his father's body near a canal at Manegaon, which was recovered.
Sanju was produced in a local court today, which sent him to jail in judicial custody.
