Youth Congress activists of the state today blocked the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Udhampur district for half an hour to demand the resignation of Union Ministers Sushma Swaraj and Smriti Irani and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje over controversies surrounding them.
"We demand the resignation of Swaraj, Irani, Raje and others involved in various scams," in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress Uma Shankar Pandey said.
Accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of shielding the tainted ministers, Youth Congress activists burned the effigy of NDA government.
"The tainted leaders of NDA helped Lalit Modi who left the country without facing a trial. Granting of travel documents to a fugitive is like compromising with the integrity and security of the country," state Youth Congress chief Pranav Shagotra said.
"Skeletons have started tumbling out of this government's closet, the HRD minister has secured a fake degree, the Rajasthan chief minister and another BJP leader Pankaja Munde are involved in corruption," he said.
While Raje and Swaraj are accused in Lalitgate row; Irani is alleged to possess fake degrees and Munde is facing the music for government fund discrepancies.
